Parrot AR.Drone Quadricopter Controlled by iPhone-iPod touch-iPad

To be honest I just ordered my Parrot AR.Drone Quadricopter, I am REALLY excited to get it up and running. I am also getting a replacement Hull, Props, Repairing Tools and 2 sets of Gears
because I know how rough I can be on my flying R/C toys!

Parrot AR.Drone Quadricopter

This Guys review (JJROBOTEK) is the one that sold me:

Best Flying Toy period.

Parrot AR.Drone Quadricopter

Nothing even comes close. Similar Quad Copters have been around for years and are very costly. Parrot has done an excellent job of mass producing a DURABLE Quad copter with 2 Camera’s for a fraction of the cost of a similar Hobby store system.

I am able to fly it via camera out of direct line of sight without issues, indoors and out, even in a wooded area – just like the promo video. It takes practice but it is a reality.

It’s Fast, Easy to fly and The AR Drone has decent lifting power, I have mounted a Plush Yoda and USB missile launcher successfully. It’s a developers dream and very suitable for modifications.

The quality, Durability and Fun factor are well above my expectations for a $299 TOY. Well Done Parrot!

Cons:
1. Requires An iOS Device to work. If you don’t have an iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad, this will not work. (Use iPod/iPhone 3GS or 4G for best experience)
2. Documentation and Instructional Videos are fair at best. They need to clearly outline the control scheme in the manual and videos.
3. Frame rate of video is decent and getting better with each update.
4. More than 7MPH of Wind will carry the Drone, It’s more than powerful enough to ride in gentle wind once you have the hang of it.
5. Spare Parts are a good idea, I suggest getting a set of spare gears, They are the most likely parts to break in a bad crash and are inexpensive.

WowWee Rovio Wi-Fi Enabled Robotic WebCam

WowWee Rovio Wi-Fi Enabled Robotic WebCam

WowWee Rovio Wi-Fi Enabled Robotic WebCam

I went from hating this thing, to wanting to MAKE LOVE to it.

As soon as you get your WowWee Rovio Wi-Fi Enabled Robotic WebCam flash it with the most up-to-date firmware ASAP. Seriously, don’t be intimidated, follow the included instructions and flash it immediately. After you flash it, it may work better with some browsers than with other browsers, mine likes firefox the best. O.K. that being said, let me tell you why i want to make love to my WowWee.

I read some other reviews that talked about this toy opening kids eyes to the wonders of science and engineering. Forget that, It opened MY eyes to the wonders of science and engineering. Read More »

R/C Cyborg Shark – Red by Swimways

R/C Cyborg Shark - Red by Swimways

My Shark Will EAT your submarine!

I had a TON of fun with this toy last summer, I just took it out to the pool about a week ago, and although it was way too cold for me to get in the pool, my R/C Cyborg Shark didn’t mind at all.

I was actually rough enough with these, running them into each other last summer that I wasn’t sure they would both survive the season. But they both came through with only minor scrapes, and one is a little slower. (I am pretty competitive and will be giving the slower shark to visitors and guests by default next summer!) Really though these sharks aren’t particularly fast or maneuverable, so it is tense hilarious fun holding underwater R/C Cyborg Shark battles.

Associated RC10T4.1 RTR 2.4 Brushless Stadium Truck

Associated RC10T4.1 RTR 2.4 Brushless Stadium Truck

I have broken this truck more times than I can count, And I LOVE it!

If you don’t have a big back yard yet, then you are really going to want one once you have this truck: Associated RC10T4.1 RTR 2.4 Brushless Stadium Truck! (or at least want your neighbor with a big back yard and no fences!)

I have had quite a few of these trucks, I have been playing on my own with them for over a decade. I have never really gotten into stadium racing, so please don’t consider me an expert there. What I am an expert on is tearing my poorly manicured backyard up. The front lawn is fine, the street is fun too, but an RC10 truck makes having dustbowls, and tree stumps and tall grass one of the most enjoyable things in the world!

Associated RC10B4.1 Factory Team Kit

So You want to Race???

Lets race!!

I love these cars, they are ready to run right out of the box, and the team kits really do pack some power for a 1/10 kit.

The Associated RC10B4.1 Factory Team Kit buggy is a great place to start for racing, buggy team kits are put together to stand up in racing, this is also a good place for a fast car on the street or on packed dirt. If you want something that is going to handle better in your yard or parks, even chasing dogs at the dog park then go for a truck, like this one: Associated RC10T4.1 RTR 2.4 Brushless Stadium Truck.

Thanks Sushibooties!

If I had started with my chucks earlier I could have saved myself a quite a few headaches and all of those unfortunate family jewel smashes.

At least they will be a little softer if I play with them drunk, leave them out and step on one the next morning while I am nursing my hangover
